Scottish pensioners - file for unclaimed benefits
A new scheme funded by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and the Scottish government aims to improve the up-take of benefits among older citizens of Scotland.
Launched by Age Concern Scotland, the scheme will be piloted in Glasgow's East End and Aberdeenshire from this month until March 2009.
The scheme is part of the DWP’s efforts to increase pensioners’ incomes in Scotland, England and Wales.
Scottish pensioners who claim benefits before 6 October may be eligible for one year’s backdated money.
For more information, contact the Deveron District Age Concern in Aberdeenshire, 012 6183 2264, or the Pensioner Action Group East in Glasgow’s East End, 014 1554 9292.
