Join in Silver Surfers' Day
Silver Surfers' Day is the biggest annual computer literacy campaign for older people throughout the UK. The 5th Silver Surfers' Day is Friday 25 May2007.
On Silver Surfers' Day people can attend Silver Surfer events in many different places - from libraries to community groups to large employers to charities to faith groups to schools to their own homes or offices.
Events are either free of charge or very low cost for anyone over 50, who wants to find out more about the internet and technology.
Participants do not need any experience of using computers. There are also events for confident silver surfers who want to take part in a communal and educational experience.
The events are usually short 'Taster Sessions' that last 15 to 30 minutes on a one-to-one basis.
Information on other ways to learn about computers is on the Directgov website
